Who We Are
What is the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)?
Our Core Beliefs
Like all Christians We believe Jesus is the son of the Living God, who offers grace and love to all people.
All people are Created in the divine image of God and this are Gods children.
As Disciples we Practice...
Open Communion
The Lord’s Supper or Communion is celebrated in weekly worship. Communion is open to all who come in good faith to the table set by God to partaking in the symbols of Gods love through Jesus Christ
Freedom of Belief
Disciples are called together around one essential of faith: belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Persons are free to follow their conscience guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others.
Believers Baptism by Immersion
Through baptism, the old self-centered life is set aside, and a new life of trust in God begins. Although Disciples practice baptism by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.
Belief in the Oneness of the Church.
All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service to care for all people.
Ministry of all Believers.
Both clergy and lay persons lead in worship, service and spiritual growth as leaders in the community .
